Prestige Biopharma IDC CEO Ko Sang-seok Purchases Company Shares on the Open Market
Ko Sang-seok, CEO of Prestige Biopharma IDC, has purchased 45,600 shares of Prestige Biopharma on the open market.
According to Prestige Biopharma on September 2, the share purchase is seen as reflecting confidence in the group’s mid- to long-term growth prospects, driven by the commercialization of biosimilars and the research and development of innovative new drugs. Earlier, Prestige Biopharma CEO Lisa S. Park also purchased a total of 213,500 shares of Prestige Biopharma on the open market during July and August in an effort to strengthen shareholder confidence and demonstrate responsible management.
Prestige Biopharma IDC is an R&D subsidiary of Prestige Biopharma and spearheads the group’s innovative drug research and development activities. In addition to discovering and developing antibody drug candidates, the company is expanding its research scope into next-generation antibody delivery platforms and diagnostic technologies, with a focus on securing future growth drivers for the group.
Key R&D projects currently underway include PBP1710, an antibody drug candidate targeting fibrosis and solid tumors; IDC224, a subcutaneous (SC) delivery platform designed to improve the convenience of antibody therapy administration; and TASA™, a PAUF-based diagnostic technology related to pancreatic cancer. By expanding its research portfolio beyond individual drug candidates into platform and diagnostic technologies, Prestige Biopharma IDC is strengthening the Prestige Biopharma Group’s competitiveness in new drug development.
The Prestige Biopharma Group plans to pursue revenue growth through the global commercialization of biosimilars while fostering innovative new drugs and novel platforms as key pillars of its mid- to long-term growth strategy. Prestige Biopharma IDC also plans to accelerate the development of its key pipelines based on its in-house R&D capabilities, while continuously expanding commercialization opportunities through joint research and open innovation with external institutions and companies.
Ko said, “As the outcomes of the group’s biosimilar commercialization and innovative drug R&D initiatives are gradually becoming tangible, I decided to purchase the shares based on my confidence in the group’s future growth potential.”
He added, “As the R&D hub responsible for creating the group’s future growth engines, Prestige Biopharma IDC will further focus on securing competitive new drugs and platform technologies and translating them into tangible business results.”
