Prestige Biopharma Appoints Neil O’Connor as Board Director, Strengthening Expertise in CMC and Quality Management

Prestige Biopharma has appointed Dr. Neil O’Connor, a global biopharmaceutical development expert, as a registered director of the company.

Prestige Biopharma announced on September 30 that Dr. O’Connor, who currently oversees the company’s global Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) and analytical functions, has been appointed to its Board of Directors.

Dr. O’Connor has more than 15 years of experience in biopharmaceutical development across the global pharmaceutical industry, including at Johnson & Johnson. During his tenure at Johnson & Johnson, he was involved in the development of biologic medicines, including antibody-based therapeutics. He earned his Ph.D. from University College Dublin in Ireland.

Since joining Prestige Biopharma in 2021, Dr. O’Connor has been responsible for developing analytical strategies for the company’s key development programs and overseeing CMC activities for regulatory submissions to global authorities, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

He currently leads Prestige Biopharma’s global CMC and analytical organization and also participates in business development initiatives and strategic partnership discussions with global pharmaceutical companies.

With this appointment, Prestige Biopharma plans to expand Dr. O’Connor’s responsibilities beyond CMC and analytical operations to include strategic decision-making related to the development of novel drugs and biosimilars, as well as key corporate management decisions.
