Prestige Biopharma Explores Global Expansion of PAUF-Based Pancreatic Cancer Diagnostic Kit at MEDICA 2023
Prestige Biopharma announced that it participated in MEDICA 2023, the world’s largest medical device exhibition, held from November 13 to 16 in Düsseldorf, Germany, to explore global expansion opportunities for its PAUF-based pancreatic cancer diagnostic kit.
During the exhibition, the company focused on partnering meetings with organizations including Laboratory Developed Test (LDT) service providers to advance commercialization of pancreatic cancer diagnostic technologies. This marked Prestige Biopharma’s first participation in the MEDICA exhibition.
MEDICA is the largest global medical device trade fair, bringing together the latest trends and innovative technologies in the medical device industry. This year’s event hosted more than 5,000 companies from around the world and attracted approximately 80,000 industry professionals.
Prestige Biopharma exhibited at the Singapore Pavilion organized by the Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association (SPETA) and supported by Enterprise Singapore, a government agency. At the exhibition, the company introduced its PAUF detection diagnostic kit and initiated efforts to identify potential global partners.
Through multiple meetings with industry participants, Prestige Biopharma explored potential partners for commercialization and discussed regulatory pathways, clinical development activities, and collaboration opportunities related to LDT services and in vitro diagnostic tools.
The company noted that discussions with LDT service providers provided valuable insights into strategies for rapid market entry. LDT services allow diagnostic testing to be offered through CLIA-certified laboratories without requiring prior approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), making them a widely used pathway for accelerating market introduction.
Based on these discussions, Prestige Biopharma plans to adopt a phased market entry strategy by targeting specific markets such as Singapore and China for rapid initial launch, while ultimately pursuing global regulatory approvals and licensing opportunities. This approach aims to accelerate entry into the pancreatic cancer diagnostics market.
A company representative stated, “As an antibody therapeutics company with a full value chain, we will actively collaborate with the companies we met at this exhibition to accelerate commercialization of our pancreatic cancer diagnostic kit, which represents the first step toward overcoming pancreatic cancer.”
