Prestige Biopharma Signs 31 European Licensing and Supply Agreement with Teva for Tuznue®
Prestige Biopharma Signs 31 European Licensing and Supply Agreement with Teva for Tuznue®
Prestige Biopharma (CEO: Soyeon Park) announced that it has signed a licensing and supply agreement with Teva Pharmaceutical International GmbH, a subsidiary of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE and TASE: TEVA), for the commercialization of its trastuzumab biosimilar Tuznue® across 31 European markets.
Under the agreement, Teva will obtain the rights to market and distribute Tuznue® in key European countries including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, and Sweden, among others.
Tuznue® is a biosimilar of Herceptin® approved for the treatment of breast cancer and metastatic gastric cancer. Prestige Biopharma received marketing authorization from the European Commission (EC) in September of last year, marking a major milestone in the company’s biosimilar portfolio and paving the way for the supply of cost-competitive treatment options across Europe.
Through this partnership, Teva will leverage its extensive commercial network and expertise in biosimilars to market and distribute Tuznue® throughout Europe.
Manufacturing and supply will be carried out by Prestige Biopharma’s CDMO subsidiary, Prestige Biologics, which operates advanced EU-GMP-certified production facilities equipped with single-use technology.
Chairwoman Soyeon Park of Prestige Biopharma Group stated that the collaboration with Teva, a leading global biopharmaceutical company, represents a significant step toward providing Tuznue® to patients across Europe.
She added that the partnership will not only support the successful commercialization of Tuznue® but also accelerate the development of the company’s broader biosimilar pipeline, which includes 14 programs such as the bevacizumab biosimilar.
