Prestige Biopharma Wins “Bioprocessing Excellence in SEA” at Asia-Pacific Bioprocessing Awards 2022

Prestige Biopharma (CEO Soyeon Park) announced that it has been selected as the “Bioprocessing Excellence in Southeast Asia (SEA)” winner at the Asia-Pacific Bioprocessing Awards 2022, held in Singapore on the 29th–30th of last month.

The Asia-Pacific Bioprocessing Awards is an international event that recognizes outstanding companies and professionals across various fields, including biopharmaceutical development, manufacturing, quality control, GMP, and contract manufacturing. The event is organized by IMAPAC, which also hosts an annual conference attended by more than 400 experts from over 100 organizations, including government agencies, NGOs, industry, and academia.

At this year’s awards, Prestige Biopharma was recognized for its advanced biopharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities, including multiple antibody production technologies and process-related patents. Global pharmaceutical companies such as Merck and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) were also honored in their respective categories.

Prestige Biopharma is a company specializing in the development of biosimilars and antibody therapeutics, with capabilities spanning the entire process from candidate discovery to commercialization. In particular, the company works in synergy with its affiliate, Prestige Biologics (CEO Jae-young Yang), by clearly dividing roles in drug development and manufacturing.

According to the company, its antibody production technologies and process patents have been implemented through scale-up studies for commercial manufacturing at Prestige Biologics. These technologies have been applied to the development and production of multiple pipeline products, including the Herceptin biosimilar HD201 (TUZNUE®), the Avastin biosimilar HD204 (Vasforda®), the Humira biosimilar PBP1502, and the pancreatic cancer antibody therapeutic PBP1510 (INN: Ulenistamab). Based on these capabilities, Prestige Biologics recently obtained EU-GMP certification.
