Advancing Novel Antibody Target Discovery through AI and Big Data
Fostering Practice-Oriented Talent in Advanced Bio-Convergence

Integrating AI and Big Data into Antibody Drug Target Discovery to Cultivate Industry-Ready Advanced Biopharma Talent

Prestige Biopharma IDC, the innovative drug research institute and subsidiary of Prestige Biopharma, announced on the 8th that it has been selected as an institution for the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s “Advanced Biopharma Convergence Talent Development Program.”

Through this initiative, the company plans to actively integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and big data-based analytical systems into the antibody drug development process, while accelerating the cultivation of industry-ready convergence talent centered on real-world research applications.

Prestige Biopharma IDC aims not only to apply AI and big data technologies to drug development, but also to foster “practical advanced biopharma convergence professionals” capable of proactively utilizing these technologies in actual research environments. Through this effort, the company intends to strengthen its data-driven R&D framework while contributing to the expansion of advanced biopharma talent and industry-academia-research collaboration ecosystems within the Busan region. The project is supported by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) and will run from April 2026 to March 2028.

Recently, the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry has been increasingly adopting strategies that utilize vast disease and clinical datasets to identify promising targets at an early stage in order to improve drug development success rates and shorten development timelines. In line with this trend, Prestige Biopharma IDC plans to establish a system that analyzes data related to intractable diseases using AI and prioritizes targets with high potential for antibody therapeutic development. The key objective is to proactively reduce risks prior to experimental validation and enhance the early-stage verification process.

In addition, the company plans to create synergies by combining its existing R&D capabilities — including antibody discovery, cell line development, and non-clinical validation — with newly introduced data analysis systems. By focusing research capabilities on pipelines with strong commercialization potential based on objective data, the company aims to improve the accuracy of drug development decision-making and accelerate overall commercialization timelines.

An official from Prestige Biopharma IDC stated, “Being selected for this program represents an important opportunity to combine the cultivation of AI and big data convergence talent with our antibody drug R&D capabilities. We will establish a data-driven and objective research framework to maximize the development efficiency of drug candidates and strive to ensure that meaningful research outcomes lead to successful commercialization.”
