Development strategy discussed with global researchers

Prestige Biopharma presented early clinical research results for its pancreatic cancer drug candidate PBP1510 (Ulenistamab) at the European Society for Medical Oncology Gastrointestinal Cancers Congress (ESMO GI 2026) and discussed follow-up clinical development strategies with global experts. Based on the safety data obtained, the company plans to continue development with the goal of initiating a Phase 2a clinical trial within this year.

Prestige Biopharma announced on July 9 that it presented the PAUF-I Phase 1/2a study of its pancreatic cancer drug candidate PBP1510 (Ulenistamab) as an e-poster at ESMO GI 2026, held in Munich, Germany, and discussed the direction of follow-up clinical development with global gastrointestinal cancer experts.

ESMO GI is an international academic congress where the latest clinical research and treatment strategies in gastrointestinal cancers are shared. It is also a venue where active research on difficult-to-treat gastrointestinal cancers, including pancreatic cancer, is presented.

According to the company, the presentation introduced the clinical trial design and development status of PBP1510 and shared a PAUF-targeted treatment strategy for patients with advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer. In particular, the company exchanged views with global researchers on the design and direction of follow-up clinical trials, further specifying preparations for the Phase 2a study.

PBP1510 is an antibody drug candidate that targets PAUF (Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma Up-regulated Factor), a protein associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. PAUF is known to be involved in tumor growth, metastasis, and the formation of an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. By inhibiting PAUF, the candidate aims to offer a differentiated approach from conventional chemotherapy-centered treatments.

According to the early clinical results disclosed by the company, a total of 43 patients were enrolled, and safety and tolerability were confirmed. Stable disease (SD) was observed in some patients. However, as this is an early-stage clinical study, the antitumor activity and clinical efficacy will need to be more thoroughly evaluated through the upcoming Phase 2a trial.

Prestige Biopharma also plans to review a biomarker-based patient selection strategy using PAUF expression status, as well as the potential for combination therapy with existing treatments in the follow-up clinical study. Through a precision medicine approach, the company aims to improve treatment outcomes and increase the likelihood of development success.

During the congress, the company also held separate meetings with global key opinion leaders (KOLs) who have experience in pancreatic cancer clinical development. Prestige Biopharma gathered opinions on patient population selection, clinical operation strategies, and the potential advancement of PAUF-targeted therapy. The company plans to reflect these insights in refining the Phase 2a study design and proceed with the initiation of the trial within this year.

Pancreatic cancer is considered one of the most difficult-to-treat cancers, as many cases are diagnosed at an advanced or metastatic stage, resulting in poor prognosis. As existing treatment options remain limited, the need for new mechanism-based targeted therapies has continued to grow. PAUF-targeted treatment is regarded as one of the research approaches aimed at addressing this unmet medical need.

A Prestige Biopharma official said, “ESMO GI provided an opportunity to share the clinical development status of PBP1510 with global experts and further specify our follow-up development strategy. Based on the clinical data obtained and expert feedback, we will continue preparing for the Phase 2a trial and work to verify the clinical value of PAUF-targeted therapy.”
